‘It’s catty and manipulative!’ Furious mother says she ‘can’t stand’ Married At First Sight after daughter Connie reveals she’s joined the show
Channel Nine will tackle public criticism of Married At First Sight head on in the new season by breaking the fourth wall and airing a denunciation of the show on camera.
In a new trailer, bride Connie’s mother is shown absolutely eviscerating MAFS, calling the show ‘manipulative’ and begging her daughter to pull out before it’s too late.
‘I can’t stand that show,’ she barks after Connie reveals that she’s starring on Married At First Sight.

Connie’s mum later unleashes on MAFS in an interview with producers.
‘Clearly as a mother, when your child tells you, “hey mum, I’m going on a show that you don’t like”, that’s made it worse,’ she rages.
‘I can’t STAND your show … it’s an experiment that went wrong.’

She continued: ‘I think the show can be quite manipulating. Like this interview, for example, you’re only going to put on, you’re going to take bits out, you’re not going to say exactly everything that I’ve said.’
She further demolished MAFS while speaking to her daughter, calling it ‘stupid, ridiculous and catty’.
Earlier in the trailer, Connie admits that she’s ‘lonely’ and desperate to find a partner.
